ZEBRA MUSSELS

To look into the Zebra Mussel infestation problem, Bill King, a resident of the lake, agreed to chair a committee to study this problem.  When the first infestations were noted, it was assumed they would grow and consume anything and everything they came across.  In some areas of the lake, owners feel the populations have significantly reduced. One side benefit is that a single Zebra Mussel will filter a quart of water in a day.  They do help purify the lake water . "The other Lake George" (in New York State) has an excellent web page covering the Zebra Mussels.  They have given us permission to use their material and you are directed to: http://www.LakeGeorge.org
