Board Meeting
June 9, 2007

Meeting called to order –Joy Kent –President 8:35 AM
Secretary report accepted as read – so moved
Treasurer’s report accepted as read – so moved

Safety/Patrol – Joy Kent/P. Schlatter- boat will be on the water this week. Our lake hours are a state law
Fireworks- Tues. July 3, rain date July 7
Fish/Wildlife-Bill King- Walleye t-shirts being designed to give when people donate.
Weeds-Craig Roberts- Eurasian Millfoil will be treated during the week of june 14. Could not treat in May, needed more growth. FORT – new Hydrilla weed is worse than Eurasian Milfoil. Signs going up at our access by DNR to warn what protective process to be done to avoid it’s spread.. Linda Hagerman will talk to marina about putting up sign there also. (cost $75) Motion for us to pay the $75, so moved. D. Stang will improve our sign at public access to show MI law also.
Events- J. Kent-garages sale June 15, 16, Conservancy sale at Halls clubhouse.
Boat Parade-Bill King-P. Schlatter will lead boat parade around lake. “Vacation Destinations” theme
Conversation about large “all lake” get together, including conservancy, sewer, LGCA.
Boat Safety- Nancy Stiefel heading committee
Website-Dave Stang-breeze now on website showing photos of lake, events, weeds.
Breeze-Craig Roberts will write up article about weeds. Due date June 15
Dam-Tom Blackburn- Hearing was on Tuesday with Judge Wheat. Our attorney’s presentation was really good, DNR did not present as well. Judge Wheat was very prepared and informed about the case. Decisions will be in 2 weeks. After that there is a 30 day appeal period. Mass mailing suggested by Jerry Case if we lose to plan decision if appeal or not. Party suggested if we win! Next breeze will have decision information in it.

NEW BUSINESS

Water survey- we received an award for 10 years of water monitoring (Glen Bickel) from Steuben County Soil and Water Conservation District. Our water quality is actually better on the water going out of lake than the water coming into lake. Linda Hagerman will test additional area on Caroline Dr.
Conservancy- Bill Schlatter- Beer Wine tasting event with silent auction and music June 30 at marina.
Steuben County Lake Council – Fran Ort- Crooked lake compost site may be closing. To learn how property taxes are calculated – Larry DeVore – June 18 – 260-499-6334
